   01. Basic Reply to a Message
 
     
   You can reply to any message sent using the Reply buttons in the Toolbar, and the Message menu.  
 

 

 
 
 1. Open and read your mail message.
 
 2.   Click the Reply button in the Toolbar.

This reply button is set to reply only to the sender of the message, not to all recipients.

There is also a Reply Sender button that does the same thing:


 
 3.   A reply message will appear, and the subject line of the original message will appear with an Re:.
 
 4. Compose, format, and send your message.
 
     
     
   02. Replying to All Recipients and Sender
 
   Sometimes, you may want to reply to everyone who received a particular message, not just the sender.
 Use this feature with discretion; often people don't wish to see every reply made to a message!
 
     
 
 1. Open and read your mail message.
 
 2.   Choose the Message menu and Reply Special > Reply All.

This will create a reply message addressed to the original sender, plus all recipients of the message.

Again, use this with discretion! Do not Reply All to messages sent to the entire staff (See Staff Conference Area section for more info).


 
 3.   A reply message will appear, and the subject line of the original message will appear with an Re:.

The sender and all recipients of the original message will appear in the To: field.
 


 
 4. Compose, format, and send your message.
 
     
   03. Replying with Quotes
 
     
   Sometimes, you may wish to quote the original message in your reply.  
     
 
 1. Open and read your mail message.
 
 2.   Click the Reply With Quotes button in the toolbar.

 

 


 
 3.   A reply message will appear addressed to the sender, and the subject line of the original message will appear with an Re:.

The body of the message will include the sender's original message highlighted in gray, with a message.
 


 
 4. Add your reply to the body of the message and send your message.
 
     
   04. Replying to Conference
 
   This allows you to reply to a message posted in a conference. (See the Conference sections for more information).
 Your reply will be posted to the Conference, so use this with discretion!
 
     
 
 1. Open and read the Conference message.
 
 2.   Choose the Message menu and
Reply Special > Reply Conference.

 

 


 
 3.   A reply message will appear addressed to the sender, and the subject line of the original message will appear with an Re:.

The message will be addressed to the Conference where the original message was posted.

Reminder: Messages posted in Conferences are read by many people. Use this with discretion!

Students are not able to post messages to Conferences.

 4. Compose and send your message.
