FirstClass Voice Mail Basics
All Glenbard employees will receive e-mails, voice messages and faxes delivered directly to thier
FirstClass accounts.  This service allows you to retrieve your e-mail and voice mail from any computer
or any telephone, respond to your e-mail by telephone, and create custom voice greetings for specific
callers or times. The fastest way to retrieve your messages is through your FirstClass account but
you can still access voice messages via telephone when more privacy is needed.

Accessing Your Voice Messages via FirstClass

You will need speakers or headphones to listen to messages in FirstClass. If you need speakers or
headphones for your computer, please submit a Web Help Desk request to your building’s support
and a technician will deliver them as soon as possible.

1. Log in to your FirstClass account. It is easiest to use the FirstClass client as opposed to the
web version.

2. Open your Mailbox. If you have new voice messages, the red flag will appear on your mailbox
just like it does if you have new e-mails.
A new voice message from an outside caller will display with a sender name of “0”. A new voice
message from a Glenbard phone will display with the extension and name assigned to the phone.
The subject of the voice message will be “Voice Message,” and there will be a speaker icon 12308_83937_0.png in
the attachment column.

3. Double-click the Voice Message to open it. The Voice Message will begin playing.12308_84251_2.png
You can press the
PLAY/STOP button to stop
or replay the message.
Click and drag the POINTER
to back up or go forward and
play the message from a
particular point.
Click and drag the Volume
slider to increase or decrease
the message volume.

Voice messages can be deleted, forwarded, or filed/saved like any e-mail message in FirstClass.
