This is the FirstClass Desktop that will appear upon logging in to your account.
There are a number of icons on the desktop that serve different functions.
Your mailbox contains all e-mail messages sent to and from you, as well as all voice messages received at your phone extension.
2. Building Staff Conference
This area contains messages for the entire staff of your building. There may also be important files, forms, and calendars for your building in this area. For example, this area contains the student behavior report that is submitted to the deans. It is important to check this area any time a red flag appears.
3. District Wide Conference
The District Wide Conference contains information for the entire district, including technology FAQs, the Student Password Reset tool, district forms, employee benefit information, and more.
4. District Wide Departments
Broken down by department, this staff-only area contains resources specific to your department(s), including curriculum documents and resources.
5. Web Site Area (Only visible if you have an active web site. See your building's webmaster with questions.)
This area contains your school web page. All school web pages are now hosted in FirstClass. You will not have this icon until you work with your building's webmaster to create a web page.
This is your calendar, to which you can add events with reminders, or add events to students' calendars.
This area stores URLs (web addresses) for a "traveling" bookmark/favorites list that is accessible wherever you log in to FirstClass.
8. File Storage
Store and transport many types of files in this area. Staff members have 250 MB of default storage space, upgradeable to 500 MB (See the Technology FAQs in the District Wide Conference).
9. Building Student Conference
This conference contains messages for all students as well as a link for surveys and file storage space upgrades for students.
10. RWD Bulider Icon (Only visible if you have an active web site. See your building's webmaster with questions.)
The Contacts area contains your e-mail contacts and personal mail lists, as well as a link to the staff/student Directory.
General FirstClass help files are stored here.
13. Trash Can
Check in the Trash Can if you accidentally deleted something. You can undelete, but only for a limited amount of time before the message or file disappears entirely (typically 24 hours).
14. Building Departments
This area organized departmentally and contains information for students. Teacher conferences are also housed (by department) in this area. If you would like your own Teacher Conference, please submit a Web Help Desk ticket.
15. All Conferences
Contains links to all conferences in the district. You may not be able to view every conference.
16. Voice Greetings
This area allows you to create customized voice greetings for the voicemail system. This is for advanced users only!
